Rev. Fr. Frederick Rosario – R.I.P.
Fr. Frederick Rosario entered into his eternal reward on September 07, 2015 Monday at 8.45 p.m. in Holy Family Hospital, New Delhi due to kidney failure and cardiac arrest. On 1st of September he felt not keeping that well and came to St. Luke’s Hospital for check up. The previous couple of days he had experienced a few black-outs and twice he had fall from his bed. He came to St. Luke’s to have his routine check-up, get some medicine and go back. However, doctors admitted for further diagnosis and found out that his blood urea and creatine very high. Thus on 2nd September around noon he was shifted to Meerut Kidney Hospital’s ICU where he was diagnosed with cardiac problems other than kidney diseases as they noticed his pulse rate was touching very low. Immediately Dr. Pradeep called for a cardiologist from K.M.C. Hospital who advised to shift him to K.M.C. Super Specialty to support his heart with an ‘external pace-maker’. There with the support of the ‘external pace-maker’ they tried to do the dialysis to revive his affected kidneys. Though he showed some improvements initially his condition was not bright because they could not carry out the dialysis for more than an hour due to cardiac difficulties. However, when I met him on 4th September in the ICU of K.M.C. he told me that he was feeling much better. Having consulted to his doctor in K.M.C. and our doctors in St. Luke’s I shifted him to Holy Family Hospital to avail him the best possible treatment.
In Holy Family Hospital the doctors tried their level best to regularize his heart and kidney but not succeeded for his BP was so irregular that they could not complete the process of dialysis to arrest the severe infection of body and blood he already had; and as a result his urine output was nil. On 6th September around 11 a.m. again he was found with very low BP. Fr. Roy anointed him that evening around 4.30 in the presence of other priests. At that time he was very much conscious and asked for the sacrament. Later noticing that he was gasping for breath having being exhausted the doctors began to support him with ventilator. After that his BP improved and dialysis was done. On 7th September at 7.30 p.m. Fr. Faustin and I visited him and prayed over him. His condition was deteriorating at that time and at 8.00 p.m. he had a cardiac arrest. The doctors tried almost 45 minutes to revive him. Finally at 8.45 p.m. he breathed his last. I gratefully acknowledge the support extended by Rev. Fr. George, the director Holy Family Hospital to us in our difficult times.
Rev. Fr. Frederick Rosario was born on July 25, 1949 at Kuppepadaou, Mangalore to late Mr. Dominic Rosario and Late Mrs. Lucy Rosario. Then he was appointed principal of St. Mary’s Academy, Saharanpur where he rendered his valuable service from 1989 to 1998. From there he was transferred to St. Mary’s Church, Jwalapur as Parish Priest and Manager. In 1999 he was again appointed Principal of St. Joseph’s Inter-College till his retirement in 2011.
